OBIEE 11g Dashboard Deployment Steps

  Deploying Web Catalog

  

      Below is the default initial folder for catlog with which OBIEE comes.

  OracleInstance$\bifoundation\OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent\coreapplication_obips1\catalog

·         Under this folder SampleAppLite folder would be there. 

        SampleAppLite Catlog is the sample dashboard of OBIEE 11g.

      If you deploy/create any new dashboard in OBIEE, it will be by default created in SampleAppLite folder.

      To avoid this we need to create dedicated folder for your deelopment.

      Please follow below steps.

Catalog Location Path(Physical Location):

Create folder called TestDevelopment

<BIHome>\instances\instance1\bifoundation\

OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent \coreapplication_obips1\catalog\TestDevelopment

        

1.  Login to EM
2. Under Repository tab we can set catlog path.
3. Change the path to TestDevelopment (Case Sensitive)
4. Restart the Presentation services.
5.  If this doesn’t work restart all services.
6.  Now once you get inside the newly created folder you will see a root folder.
7.  If you see this the new folder is ready to be used.
8. Goto dashboard folder.
9. Click on options and select Archieve. (Select both prompted options)
10. Go to dashboard which we need to deploy.
11. Select Unarchieve.
12. Browse to the archieved catlog file.
13. Do not change any option.

         And your catlog is deployed and ready for new development.
